The North Dorchester Middle School Library Media Center welcomes students and staff to explore the world of literature and information through its lab of twenty-six computers and its collection of print and non-print materials selected to support and supplement the curriculum and to reflect student needs and interests.
Teachers sign up to bring classes to the Library Media Center to hear book talks and check out books, to use both books and computers for curriculum related research, to learn how to use the Internet safely and effectively, and to create their own productions using word processing, Power Point or other programs. With a pass from a teacher, students come alone or in small groups to complete class assignments or to browse, select, and enjoy library books.
Students who wish to visit the Library Media Center after school hours must receive permission from the Media Specialist at least one day in advance. |
